Hello duck friends! My 2 Pekin ducks will begin laying early October...what egg cartons work best? Will the 'jumbo' size fit the duck eggs?

We use leftover chicken egg cartons. Any size will work with a rubber band.

If you kept the one plastic one that came with your fridge, that works the best. Our next choice is the either styrofoam (they are almost a little "stretchy") or the plastic 3 piece ones (clear plastic that have two tops that fold over).

And it depends on the breed of duck (and the duck itself). Our pekins lays enormous eggs, our welsh harlequins little chicken size ones, our Rouens lay long skinny "cylinders", our khaki Campbell's fall somewhere in the middle of those. They all fit in the cartons differently.

I use jumbo cartons with my Cayuga eggs. The eggs are slightly larger than the jumbo egg cup but I can close the cartons without a rubber band.
