Duck Egg Colors...Your Input Needed

I have only seen the ones that I have put in my bator last spring

My friend told me that her pekin eggs are also sort of translucent.

Pekins- white and HUGE
Rouens-supposed to be blue/green but can be white
Cayugas-black-to-white depending on the hen and time of season
Muscovies-varies, I've seen some that were dark olive green and some that were yellow-white, and everything in between
Mallard-green/blue

Swedish Eggs = Always Blue-ish

Golden 300 (aka Gold Star Hybrid) Eggs = Usually White, sometimes a bit blue-ish

ETA: This is purely from my experience....

Yes, but it is not a solid color. They are sort of marbled with white.

A friend gave me 3 duck eggs in October...the first I've ever seen. I tried to hatch them...no luck. They were white and had a sort of translucency to them. Are all duck eggs like that? Translucent?

Out of curiousity, did you candle them was there any development stages during your incubation process?? How big were they, bantam size, med, large? My white calls lay a small bantam white egg and they have a film or translucent look to them. These eggs your friend gave you, were they the first for the layer that laid them? What does your friend have that could have laid them?

Yes...candled them at one week. 2 had no development and the other had a prominent blood ring.

As far as size...they were large. Bigger than my jumbo chicken eggs. I'm pretty sure Nat (sonew123) has a mixed flock...I'll have to ask her what the mix was.
