Thank you. It is your experience that helps me understand and make a better decision when purchasing my ducks this spring!

How do you like your runners? I really like the egg colors in your pic...Every breed I seem to like lays predominantly white eggs.

Don't forget magpies. Their eggs are (boring lol) white, but they are large, clean-looking (for a duck egg), and nicely shaped. And they are great layers if you get them from a good line, almost comparable to Runners.

My Rouens have also been pretty good layers compared to what a lot of people say about them, I've had a really good experience with them, they started laying even sooner than some of my chickens born the same day, I get t about 5 eggs aweek from each.

I love, love, love my runners!

They are small - 3 pounds or so, sweet, friendly, easy to move around, adventurous, eat bugs, slugs and weeds, lay delicious eggs, they are pretty (go to amiga350 on youtube for some videos), healthy, not very noisy most of the time (low levels of food are announced quite clearly), impress friends and neighbors . . . Just a nice flock to have around.

Some are happier to be picked up and petted than others, and all but one will eat out of my hand. She likes pets, she just won't take food from someone's hand. Go figure.

Okay...I'm placing a preorder and I'm putting Runners on the list! You've convinced me.
