Duck egg found on sidewalk

Okay, so I did add holes until the temp went down to 99.5 it's been pretty stable for a couple hours so I hope it stays that way. Also the closet and adjoining room has officially been taped off and restricted until hatch day. I am going to keep updating his/her progress because if hatch day comes I won't be able to stop myself from sharing pictures!
Thanks guys, I gotta say this is my first time joining a bird group, I have lizards, dogs, cats and other rescues (even a couple mistreated fish) just wanted to tell you this group by far is the friendliest. Thanks again Katie

Thanks! I just checked and turned, the temp is still steady at 99.5 and humidity is still 50% (I know ducks are suppose to be 55 but I can't get it any higher and I think I will leave well enough alone.) Hope wew all have successful hatches. Have a great Sunday all. BTW- Peter1975, tell me your avatar is not a school mascot of some sorts.....

My avatar takes too much explaining, other than it's a ventriloquist's dummy from British televison from the 80's (thankfully no longer broadcast).
Add hot water closer to hatch day, instead of cold. The humidity should rocket. :)

So, I went to do my last turn and candle this morning and heard a chirp and saw a little fluttering wing. Did I do any damage ? I put him right back and doubled the water plus turned on the humidifier. I am sitting on my hands but I am scared that I screwed up the pipping process. Do you think he will be okay? I didn't think he would be piping until tomorrow, piece of mind would be nice and any helpful advice on what I can do to make sure he has :)what he needs to hatch....thanks! Katie
