Hello! I have a pekin and a blue runner and I am very confused on who the egg belongs to. They are the same age, little over 5 months, and one started laying about a month ago, and I assumed this was the blue runner since they seem to lay before pekins. It's a large white egg, some are really huge and have two yolks. Even though I had no idea how that egg came out of the small blue runner, I just let it go. Now the other duck started laying. I have small blueish tint or a olive green kind of looking egg and now I am confused who is laying what. Any ideas? Also, the pekin duck has some gargling egg shell nosie coming out of her all of a sudden if that is related. Thank you!

Oh wow! So this whole time the pekin has been laying and the runner just started! I guess the pekin started early and the runner started laying late. Thank you for confirming that! I was really confused and the internet doesn't help with timelines or even egg colors

You could look up “Duck egg color chart” and go to images for a better idea :)

I don’t know when specific breeds usually begin to lay, but I do know laying time can vary quite a bit. Most of my ducks are full-siblings. Some began to lay as early as 4.5 months, and some still haven’t laid yet now at 6 - 7 months.

I have tried looking at the charts but I'm not sure why I'm having so many issues. I will check it out more. Thank you for the information about your ducks!

One of my ducks has stopped laying since we noticed we have raccoons now. They are locked up at night but the coons are walking on their house. Anyways. Can anyone tell what ducks these are from so I can figure out who’s not laying.

Thanks
