duck egg is hatching - what to expect?

It's a Pekin duck egg. It's our first. Honestly, I didn't think it would work.

It's been about 4 weeks since my husband and kids set the eggs in a very primitive incubator. I didn’t even think they were fertile.

Well, yesterday we noticed a little hole cracking, we can hear chirps and pecking. The egg shakes from time to time. Honestly, I’m terrified. I do not know what to expect.

It’s been now about a day and the hole/crack is not getting any bigger. The chirps seem stronger. How long the hatching should last? Should I be worried that there is still no progress?

How is the little one doing?

Chickens can take over 24 hours from pip to zip/hatch. Not sure if ducklings are the same, but think so - my ducks hatch their ducklings, I have never hatched ducks in the incubator.
