Duck egg surprise

Quinn, my runner duck queen, lays beautiful green eggs, the only one of my runners who doesn't lay white ones. Today, I cracked open one of Quinn's to make my breakfast, and inside her egg and another perfectly formed, hard-shelled egg inside.

I know this happens sometimes, but I've never actually seen one before. I couldn't bring myself to eat either egg. I will likely clean and blow out those shells and add them to my Egg Oddity Collection, because really, shouldn't every crazy poultry person have one of those?

Quinn looks like a stretched out, runner version of the female mallards we had when I was a kid. All of my runners come from the same breeder, so I keep hoping someone else will lay colored eggs, too, but no.

I did take a photo, but I STILL can't figure out how to get my photos to my BYC postings. Some day, I will get it figured out and you will all be deluged with photos because I think EVERYTHING my birds do is Amazing!!
