I have a hen that has layed 1 egg this morning, she has made a nest and is laying in the nest. I have a drake that mated with her yesterday. The hen has layed eggs before but never actually made a nest and sat on them like she is now, plus she is chasing the other ducks away from the nest. I would like to know how I can tell if the egg is fertile? If the hen knows they are fertile? What should I do for the hen, should I move her away from the other ducks?
