Wow all of you are just absolutely awesome and dedicated just amazing.
I live across the street from small lake, when a Duck gets hurt I have to try to help.
I took care of 2 babies when a Mommy Duck got hit, last year set up water box in my utility room
Oh my... I had no idea of mess and time consuming keeping water clean for their nostrils etc. Still Can't help but love the ducks.
Duck Eggs and Nest Flooded
We rescued the 12 eggs after searching few feet of water everywhere, We have them in a box temperature steady appx. 98
have turned a couple times only because I just read info here.
The Mommy duck She is looking everywhere, nest and area but everything in that area is gone.
Will she recognize they are hers eggs since nest was completely gone? sit on them anyway? Recognize by smell I have no idea
I have read all your threads a few hours now Great info Enjoyed very much.
Suggestions? Our Plan Is to take eggs to cage area outside area and hopefully encourage Mommy to Visit ha ha
Plan to leave door open freely hoping to get her to take over without having to catch her (don't want to scare her)
I know she would walk into area to eat
She is familiar with me eats from my hand, sometimes lets me pet her but rarely.
Once this peking ? duck pecked on my front door that was so neat.
I wish I got that video, only got end of the visit I will have to post.,
If Option #1 doesn't work
I HAVE no idea taking care of 12 till they can be on their own not so sure nor set up.
I haven't checked yet it may even be illegal. We live in middle of town. Too bad somewhat a must.
Thank You All Very much for all of your info.
