I got my ducks back in the middle of March, just wondering when she will start to lay eggs...i heard September or October? Also bedding is important right for her to lay? Thanks.

I don't know if bedding is really "important", but it would cushion the egg and I'm sure make the duck more comfortable. We had a wild duck start laying eggs around my grandmothers pool, must've been a new mama because she kept doing it on the stone sidewalk. If the eggs didn't crack on impact they would roll into the pool! Once she decided on a safe, cushioned place behind a bush by the pond, she laid three eggs and then it rained, which flooded them, so she abandoned them and an opppsum ate em! My two Swedish Ducks haven't started laying yet, but I read that they don't use best boxes and other people typically have a bedded area or the Ducks find a bush/soft spot to lay.
