Hello,

This is my first time hatching eggs. We are on day 24 with 12 (cayuga and swedish) eggs. Several are rolling and wiggling and I can hear faint chirps in some. Is this normal and I should still candle tonight and lockdown for day 26? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My current hatch is a disaster, so I'm not the best person to advise on incubation details, but that sure sounds like time to lock down to me.

thanks so much for your reply. Sorry to hear about your disaster :( I hope some make it.

If you hear peeping that means some have internally pipped. Go ahead and lockdown. They are getting in position to pip and zip. No more turning.

Thanks so much for your response. So, lockdown at the end of day 24 even if not all have chirped? should I candle this evening before lockdown or just leave it be?

Thank you!

If you feel a need to candle,
just keep them in the same position and dont jostle them.
Yes. Its fine to lockdown on day 24.
