Well, we have 10 eggs (started with 12) in the incubator. 2 of 3 khaki campbell ducklings have pipped externally. Wednesday would be day 28. I started lockdown last night after seeing that 2 had already pipped internally and had filled up the airspace.
I did, however, open the incubator one time. I noticed about an hour ago that one of the eggs had pipped underneath. I quickly turned it so that the poor dear didn’t have to work against gravity to get out. It’s the furthest along!
This is my first time using the Nurture Right 360 incubator and have been very happy with it so far. I guess that may change if anything goes wrong during the hatch. We had previously hatched eggs using our mini Brinsea. I sprung for the larger incubator this year because I wanted more ducklings!
The temperature is set to 98.5 and we have 70% humidity.
We have 3 khaki Campbell, 3 welsh harlequin, and 4 runner duck eggs. I initially ordered 9 eggs from Metzer, they sent 12, lost 2 early on, and we are (not so) patiently awaiting the rest to hatch!
I just figured that I would share our excitement!
