I'm letting my ducks go broody, and I was checking on the eggs and two of them had started hatching, but there has been no progress at all since then.....I've candled them, and they're still moving, but I can't hear any peeps or taps....What's going on? I've had ducklings take 2 days to hatch, but they were making progress at least.....These eggs aren't doing anything. Should I be worried?

I wish I could help. I don't know if this is the best idea I ever had, but could you post a quick note on the thread formerly known as hatch day is today?

I know so little about hatching, just what I have read here. There may be a problem, sometimes ducklings get zip locked due to lack of moisture, but that is a wild guess.

Kinda in the same boat....

several of my ducks are on nests...one's eggs hatched and she went off her nest leaving eggs behind...
I candled them even though I could hear them pecking inside....this is day 3 and I was thinking of helping
the duckling out...I had put the egg under another duck that is still setting and her eggs are due to hatch
soon too......

similar situations....should I crack into the egg to get it started?? I'm afraid the duckling will work his self
to death just trying to come into this world.....the other two eggs have fallen silent...

I brought in the egg that was pipping and cracked the top of shell only to find
I was too late and the completely formed duckling was dead....( morning of day 4)

next time I will not wait and will crack the egg next time earlier, by day 3 at least...

I do realize if it couldn't make it out on it's own it may have been too weak
to survive but guess I would take that chance...

really hate it by am trying to get another male muscovy as I only have one...

Sorry for not updating the thread; I haven't had time to get on the computer lately.

But anyways, I'll definitely post it on the thread formerly known as hatch day is today and see what they say.

Updates: I went to let the ducks out this morning, and found a dead duckling.

I'm going to post my questions regarding this on the other forum.....Thank you so much for all of your help!
