I am new to this waterfowl thing. But I am super excited to be working on a new batch of eggs that could actually hatch this time. I had another set shipped to me but incubator problems took them out.

My friend has ducks which are laying and she has given me 6 eggs. 2 were in the incubator when the the first batch got cooked, so I am only hoping that they may hatch. But it is likely they won't after being exposed to a lot of heat.

That leaves what I am calling Batch 2. 4 eggs; 2 Cayuga, and 2 Rounin eggs to hatch. I thought I would share my journey and the story of my little eggs. And of course the excitement of becoming a new duck momma.

For identifying the eggs they have names.
There is R1B2- Layed 6/13- which is a Rounin
R2B2- Layed 6-15- Another Rounin
C1B2 - Layed 6/13- Cayuga
C2B2 - Layed 6/16- Another Cayuga

I am currently torn between all the options that i keep reading about. One says to spray the eggs lightly with room temp water. Other say turn by hand because auto turners don't do a good job.

I am also wondering if it could be safe enough to candle once a day if i am using that as my cooling period too?

Hopefully in 28 days I will have little fluff butts. :D
