Duck eggs?

I know this is a chicken page, but had a question about duck eggs. Basically people had 2 ducks, they were moving so they took the ducks and then we found a pile of eggs. How do you tell if they’re fertilized? I don’t know if the ducks were a male and female or both female, so I’m not sure if they’re fertilized or not. If they are, they’ve been in the cold long enough that they probably aren’t alive, but how can I check and how would I dispose of them?
