I got my first duck eggs of the year today!! Yay! I am not sure who laid them, they seem bigger than the few eggs I got last fall from my Muscovy. So I am assuming one of my 3 Swedish laid them. I have no clue if they are fertile, but since my incubator is already running with eggs in it...I couldn't help but toss these 2 eggs in there. I mostly just want to see if they are fertile or will develope veins. I hope I can see inside the shell.

How many days should I wait to candle them? I have never tried incubating duck eggs before.

Congratulations! I got my first duck egg today also. I just bought my ducks last week so I am brand new to this. I think mine was from my Cayuga hen. My husband ate it for breakfast

Oops, probably shouldn't talk about eating eggs in the incubating and hatching forum. I would like to hatch some out eventually though...

I wait 7 days for first candling, things are fairly obvious at that point.

Good luck on the fertility!!
