just how big are duck eggs compared to chickens (in size & taste

).

The size of duck eggs will vary by breed and duck. Generally, medium ducks like Cayugas will lay eggs about the size of a large to jumbo chicken egg (approx. 28 to 34 oz). Larger ducks, like Appleyards, will lay eggs larger than jumbo chicken eggs (approx. 34 to 38 oz). Duck eggs are richer than chicken eggs. The yolks are bigger and creamier. I feed my ducks mostly grains. They are also supplemented with foraging and vegetable scraps. If one let's their ducks feed in tidal flats or lakes, the eggs will taste different than what I have described. I have been told they are less favorable.
