Duck eye injured, help please! (Second post since first one wasn’t answered)

I’ll have to try that. He isn’t a fan of the touching since he can’t see what’s going on. He’s too much of a sweetheart to hurt us though, so he’ll just lightly nibble on our fingers while we try to wipe it. It’s pretty thick gunk and I’m afraid of hurting him but I suppose if we do it slowly and gently it should be fine. We have been wiping his eye but cold water wasn’t doing the trick. It’s night right now, but in the morning perhaps I can make some saline? I heard contact saline can’t be used on poultry, how would I make some that’s safe?
I’ve never heard of using that, I usually use Colloidal silver and that works. But you’d have to do it 2-3 times a day.

Spoonful of salt in a pot of water. Bring to boil, let cool slightly. If the water is too hot for you it's too hot for your duck. We use cotton balls to apply the warm salt water. Hold the wet cotton ball to its eye for ten seconds or so at a time and it'll gradually clear away the gunk. After the gunk is gone apply terramycin to the eye.

Tractor Supply usually has terramycin in stock if you have a store nearby.
Powder yes, that would work as well. But this is ocular antibiotic ointment made specifically for putting on birds injured eyes. Seems like what she needs. If it can be treated with local antibiotics that is always better as it won’t have the same side effects as systemic antibiotics. My ducks and chickens always get secondary issues with systemic antibiotic treatment and if they are avoidable I try to do so.

TS has the terramycin ointment, at least mine did. This is what I use for chickens and ducks eyes. Got too many roosters so it comes in handy frequently
