My ducks are about a month old. I noticed on the Cayuga and one of the Mallards, that the down on their wings has really thinned out and I can see their skin. Is this normal? Are they molting so their feathers can come in? Or, is something wrong?

Thanks.

This is normal. Mine are a week older than yours and I asked the same question about weeks ago. Give them about a week and you will see new fluffy down and feathers.

Funny thing, I was wondering this too. I went through it before with my other ducks but they got feathers in so quick and down was still thick that I didn't notice, but the ducklings I have now look...well, kinda maingey. lol I figured it was just getting in feathers, but also suspected cannibalism.
