Does my Pekin duckling have angel wing?

I noticed this one wing is growing feathers that seem to point away from the body. I'm really new to ducks with my only previous experience is having read Dave Holderread's book. I just want to know if I should treat this immediately or if this is normal during growth.

Yes your duckling has currently mild and easily corrected angel wing.

The wing tips need to be held in the correct place for a few days while the feathers emerge. I like to figure of 8 bind the wings using vet wrap and tape. You can use a sock or leg of a panty-hose, with the toe cut off over the binding.

There is a good discussion with a video on the duck thread of Backyard Chickens: do a search with key words "angel wing." There is another one the Dmv website: https://duckdvm.com/condition/angel-wing

Ignore any suggestions that too much dietary protein is the cause: that is a duck keepers old wives tale commonly believed but no supporting evidence. The evidence is that ducks living on public lakes, rivers and other waterways have a much higher incidence of angel wing than backyard ducks on a good diet. Ducks in public environments often have a horrible diet of bread and even fries and other trash human food with far too little protein and needed vitamins and minerals. There can also be an underlying genetic tendency that probably accounts for your duckling having angel wing

Good luck and let us know how you get on

He wasn't the best patient, but I tried to follow the video to the best of my abilities. Thanks for the quick response. Let me know if this looks correct. I ended up doing the other wing just in case because he didn't have it tucked like the other Pekin.
