Duck feed recipes

No feed mills in our area probably were at some time but had to be a long time ago, we've been here over 20yrs.

We can buy bagged feed in 50lb bags but we are limited to what we can find even then. I drive 50 miles round trip for feed.

Wow...:th...That's amazing...

Yeah I can't afford $23 for 50lbs that would put me in the poor house. I go through about 50lbs every two days.

So 50 lbs every 2 days. At approx .4 lbs per duck (non free range) you have approx 45-50 ducks that don't forage or double that number if they forage in good pasture or pond.

If this is case, then you will want a feed calculator and buy bulk seed and grain and make your own. There is an excel spreadsheet out on the net from some site called gardenbetty just google it if interested.

Mixing your own feed is only way to cut cost on large operations, however you might want to do a cost benefit analysis and see if the cost to start is worth it for a smaller operation.

Hope you find what you need.

I have 25 ducks and 3 geese I feed them free choice. They don't eat that much in the summer but winter they are piglets. But I feed them in morning and its cleaned up by evening.
