Duck foot and leg issue help help help

Hi everyone. I am new to this blog but have been actively following you for all type of help since I first got my mixed flock back in the beginning of May and have found you all so knowledgeable that I knew this is where I needed to get some extra help!! So here is the long story. Sorry for all the details!

I purchased 4pekin ducks and 4 Orpington chickens from Tractor supply when they were on sale for .25c each. My husband for my birthday surprised me with a chicken coop and all the necessary supplies after I had expressed interest! We were planning on getting 17wkers but I fell in love and here I am with a mixed flock of 8.

We live on two and a half acres but I keep them in a large dog run with individual coops and mixed run area for safety because of all the predators we have in the area.

Anyway long story short this is my favorite male Pekin (Olaf) who as a baby had niacin deficiency and was corrected and he made a full recovery. While we were away for the past week we had a good friend staying at the house taking Care of my flock, dogs and gardens. On Tuesday of last week July 23 she called and said that he wasn’t able to walk. I assumed that it was niacin deficiency as he hasn’t been supplemented individually like I had when he had problems.
The strange thing she said at 1pm he was fine and when she came home from work and went to close the coops he couldn’t walk at all.

Now fast forward after a few days of supplementing he doesn’t seem any better and all the sudden tonight his leg is swollen. Very very swollen. I am a NICU nurse so my medical background is pretty good except I am not super familiar with waterfowl health.
But this is what I know based on my quick assessment.
—> his right leg from his body is swollen down to his toes
—> his right leg is color is not normal
—> they are the same warm temperatures on both sides.
—> he had been eating and drink until tonight when he refused
—> voiding and stooling
—> the flock has been plucking him
** he is separated from everyone for safety.

I tend to get all the sick animals. I had two doxies with back issues one in a wheelchair. I am not faint at heart and I am willing to go the extra mile to help my guy. He seems uncomfortable. We don’t have a agro vet easily accessible but I am sure if it comes down to needing to put him down we have a family friend who is a vet and she would probably help. I am going to upload pictures. You may want to consult your friend the vet. She may be able to assess whether infection is involved and get your duck on the proper dose of antibiotics while you figure out what has happened to cause the swelling. The sudden onset and symptom set sound like an injury to me, but I’m neither a vet nor a healthcare professional. An avian vet of any stripe may be able to help, even if poultry and waterfowl isn’t their primary practice.

Looks like he has bumble foot too? He could have stumbled or tripped over something ducks can be pretty clumsy. I’d def get vet help if you can. Sprains can take a long time to heal. If that’s what it is then rest, water therapy and meloxicam (vet) can help. Also for support I’d get the liquid BComplex from TSC and begin giving that to him. Great for leg health. It will say injectable but just peel off the foil and use a dropper to put 1 ml over a tasty treat. Just enough treat he’ll get full dose. I’d do this 2Xa day. Ducks are amazing in healing hopefully with so TLC Olaf will be on the mend very soon. The Liquid B Complex is in the cattle dept.

Also what should I be looking for in regards to bumble foot?? His feet are soft. He is missing a toenail on that right foot but the scraps on the top are superficial from when he scraped himself trying to move on the hard ground while I was trying to assess him.
He is damaging his wings using them as crutches. Any suggestions? His is being confined to a somewhat small space but I do let him swim supervised!

As for injuring his wings best you can do is keep him on something soft

That 875 mg tablet was Augmentin or Clavamox? How much did your duck weigh?

My vet has me use 0.25 mg per kg twice a day, other vets prescribe 0.5 mg per kg once a day.
