Duck getting lonely

Hi there,
I recently bought 3 chicks and 1 duck. I keep them in the same enclosure, and they get on really well (the deuck is pretty protective of the young chicks. However, in our enclosure we have put some wood above the floor for the chicks. They seem to spend a lot of time there, and even sleep there sometimes. The duck just sits on the floor. Should I buy another duck? Will it get too lonely?

You should definitely get another duck. Even with chicks a duckling will be lonely on its own. They don't really speak the same language. It would be like if you were locked up with chimpanzees. Sure you'd have company, but it wouldn't be the same. So there's your excuse to get another duck
