ello! this morning, i had my first ever pip! it was super exciting to see my little duck's head. however, it's now been 12 hours since i saw it pip and he really hasn't made much progress. His head is sticking out of his shell, but he hasn't really moved since. he's super talkative, though.
should i be worried? should i help him at all? he's also still in the tray--i'm too worried about his egg drying out to take him out :/

It can take anywhere from 24 to 48 or even more hours for a duck to finish absorbing it's yolk sack, which is what it does after it externally pips. Wait it out and see what happens after that. Make sure temps/humidity are stable and if you can help it at all don't open the incubator as it can cause drafts and shrink wrap him inside the membrane.
