Hi Everyone!! Thank you so much for all the tips. Last night we out antiseptic and anti fungal on him. (the stiff that stains bluish purple.

He started doing this 4 to 5 months ago now. Kids took him to vet. They treated him for mites, internal fungi and worms, gave anitibiotics and benadryl. He seemed to do better for a while and then it started again. Wr would do the usual of antibiotic on skin, benadryl and tried ivermectin we give geese. Nothing has helped. The vet was clueless. He seemed to improve for a short bit (feathers came back in) and then a month ago started scratching like crazy. Its baffling.

He has some deep cuts and an ugly scar all around from behind his cheeks to under his chin. The one cheek was raw and now its dryung out. (smelled awful) He is taking water and resting. and he recognizes us and chats a bit. Hoping for the best.

Oh. Forgot to answer. The kids got these ducks from a feed store in April. The 2 black runners are males. They have calmed down. The white and buff runners are male. Then there are 4 light greyish females runners. Then a couple heavy male ducks that are black and white, 2 buff females and 1 buff male. 1 white male and 1 white female. And then a male female pair of mini mallards. (dont know what they are called) What they received was random. Seems like they are heavy on males.

So these kids aren't yours? You just take care of their waterfowl?

Hopefully keeping up the treatment will help get him through this.

That is a lot of males. Ever thought of rehoming some? They can not only beat each other up but be awfully rough on the females they live with.

We live on the same property with the kids. They wanted ducks for the eggs. We had our geese and somehow we wound up being primary caregiver of the entire flock. I became Mother Goose and Duck. :jumpy

We were just talking to them about needing to thin the flock. Or swap for more females. We dont need more birds. I know their intentions were good, but I think they quickly found out how much work they are. Fortunately we are here all day to help.

I'd also like to see a close up picture of the area.

Here are some close up pics. The antiseptic and antifungal has turned him purple, but it should give you an idea how

bad it is. Thank you everyone for your help. I sure do appreciate it. ❤

When it first started he was put in antibiotics orally and externally. He was being given benadryl for itching. He was treated for mites and given a dewormer (ivermectin). Since then he has gotten topical antibiotics and more ivermectin. Last night and this morning he was sprayed with antifungal and antiseptic.
