Duck hatchling question

Meet Abandon! She is a lovely little darling. She looks to be full khaki campbell. Before leaving to church this morning, I disassembled the egg holder and took a look into her shell. Her yolk had absorb to about the size of a small grape. I removed her from the holder after moistening her yolk and placed her on her side. I knew we would be gone for most the day and I did not want her to try to kick out while in the egg holder. I kept the divider up to protect.

Well, when we returned home this evening I found the divider knocked down and the egg sitting on the other side of the tub and for a second I panicked until the mob of ducklings began to separate and in the middle stood this wobbly, fuzzy, small khaki. I quickly picked Abandon up and her yolk is gone, but a little bump of what looks to be skin is still sticking out. I put a more stable divider and placed her back in! How exciting, I feel so connected to this little gal. Now, the tricky part is going to be her not getting beat up by her three week old siblings and her week old siblings. I feel like having her be my sidekick, but I know that is not good for her. I hope she is a fast grower....

How precious, Congrats for a job well done, once she's had a few days to get her legs under her try putting one of your smallest with her and they gradually intro them back to the rest in a large area so lil doesn't get mobbed. some good poultry vitamins will give her a good start!

We found three other ducklings that have tolerated the little one (Abandon). It is funny how the others instantly attack her, but these three are okay. First, we put in the only other khaki we have with her and they were laying together. Then yesterday we put each duckling in with them and all but two attacked Abandon. Our three week old ducklings still cannot go with the younger, they are really mean to them. So we have three tubs sitting in our kitchen full of stinky ducklings :) we cannot keep their tubs clean or stink free. We have noticed the water is what starts to stink the most, so we change it often.

Question... The little khaki still has a small scab like piece where the yolk was. It is almost not visible until I move her down. Should I remove it or wait to see if it falls off? It has been there since she fully absorbed her yolk which was around this past Sunday.

Thanks

Let it fall off on it's own, if there was any rawness under it would be susceptible to infection. I think eventually you'll be able to have them all together it just takes time and patience.
