Is there a name for what my Cayuga hen has going on with her neck. She just turned a year old and it's been sitting offset of her neck for most of her life. Don't recall it when she was a duckling.

Recently she has been limping and falling over if someone is chasing her. She cannot fast walk. Not sure if it was an injury from the chicken girls attacking her. Or this condition is just getting worse.

I would say, in my very non-professional opinion, that looks like a wry neck… one of my recent hatchlings had that and I was so scared. A few questions if you don’t mind… where and how old did you get her and when did her neck start looking like this? It’s very prone for ducklings to have this condition and it’s very treatable. Is she eating and drinking well because if it gets bad and isn’t treated they can die from not being able to eat and drinking well and they might even struggle walking? If it started just recently and it is wry neck then it’s probably her diet, you can go to your local Walmart, Kroger, dollar general even, and get Niacin. It’s just a vitamin that can help treat this and it worked for me, I would suggest adding it to water and having your duck drink it.

You can’t quite tell from this picture but my little black duck had a wry neck and he typically laid over on his side a lot and couldn’t hold his head up.

Here he is two days later and it has completely corrected itself. I would highly suggest Niacin if you believe it is a wry neck!

@RogueRubbDuck22 Thank you so much for your information. To answer your questions.
1. Got her from Murdoch's, she was maybe a week old?
2. I didn't notice her neck until about 3~6 month age.
3. Eats frozen peas in the morning, has Nature Wise All Flock available 24/7, gets meal worms treat at bed time (after chickens go to sleep).

Yes, her balance seems to be off and unless she is slow walking. Seems to stumble. She has been getting attacked by the lower pecking order chickens and viciously too. Not sure why they are attacking her. So I put her & her sister in a 10x10 for some alone time. Picture below at 3 months and them now in the pen next to the duck house.

Starting this morning, I have her Nutri-Drench and Rooster Booster B12. Currently looking for a Niacin supplement in my area.

Ordered this 5lb supplement, will be here tomorrow. Since I have 12 ducks, its not like I wont use it.
Ok yes that will definitely help her, and it will be great for the other ducks too! It was good that you separated her from whoever was pecking at her and give her a few days with the brewer's yeast and hopefully you will see good progress! If you don't, I'm not sure what the issue would be, and I would see if you could reach out to others for help because vet visits for ducks are stupid expensive just to see the duck let alone if she might need any other things done to her.

How is your duck after trying the brewer's yeast?

@RogueRubbDuck22 It doesn't seem to make much difference. It's been a week and I let her & sister out but the door remains open. They go back in there and eat but she still likes to keep her neck and head scrunched up. I will say her limp isn't as bad now and she can make it across the property but just at a slower pace.

I've moved their morning frozen peas at the pond and as well as meal worms. To keep her away from the chickens hang out area. That's where she is getting attacked by the hens for unknown reason.

Hmmmm, well that is unfortunate. I was really hoping that your duck might recover fully. As long as she seems that she is eating and drinking well then, I guess it is better than it could've been. It could possibly be something else but I'm not sure.

Have you checked the bottom of her feet and her legs? You've got to figure out a housing and living situation away from the chickens so she can not be harmed. Can you get a little fence and block the chickens in any way? The best niacin to supplement is liquid vitamin B complex by Durvet. Amazon has it and feed stores or Tractor Supply carry it. Give her 1 ml every day over a treat like meal worms. Wry neck might also be a deficiency of vitamin E and you can get a capsule that has vitamin E with selenium, which helps with the absorption. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007IGH52A?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
