Hello. One of my pet ducks is limping. It started 2 days ago. Iv been keeping her in the duck shed to try to limit her movement. It does not seem to be improving. She has no cuts or signs of a problem on her foot. Im not sure what to do.

How old is your duck? What do you feed them?
Could you get a video of your duck limping and pictures of her feet and legs?

Is it possible to bring the duck inside to better limit her movements and keep her more comfortable?

Is it possible she had a predator encounter or fell or got in a tussle with one of the other ducks...or some other cause of injury?

Is she still eating and drinking normally? Maybe you could bring her inside and keep in a dog kennel with some towels down? Might be good for her to just rest in a quiet place for awhile.

Is there a vet in your area that you could take her to? Not to freak you out, but this past weekend, one of my ducks just out of nowhere started acting lethargic and couldn't put any weight on her right leg. I couldn't see any signs of bumblefoot or anything and took her to the vet. He did an x-ray and turned out it wasn't an orthopedic issue- she had an enlarged heart and unfortunately passed away that same day. Apparently the heart issue was keeping the blood from flowing to her feet. He didn't really give me a reason, but did say that ducks can get heart issues from eating organic feed. I'm not sure I believe that, but after reading other people's posts, I am switching to Mazuri feed. Apparently it's the best for healthy ducks.
