Duck house???

Im sooo glad we have the old house here. I will be cleaning out the hall way in there in a few weeks ready to get wood put up over the door ways so nothing can get to them from that end of the house. I will be using the bathroon and hallway, so I will have plenty of room for when my Holderreads order comes in (that my DH DOESNT know about.) Plus I need room for Elliot & Gemini, plus any other babies I decide on keeping.

(that my DH DOESNT know about.) too cute i've done this before. i take care of all the animals so he did know i did this for 3 months. the only reason he found out was because he asked" oh where did that pretty one come from?" i told him then he didn't even care.

Like your cute setup. Wouldn't work for me. Anyway, just noticed the lamp in the picture and how it has been mounted. I would worry about it coming loose, you know ducks love to play around. May I suggest to put two wood screws in to make sure it can't slip off. Just as a precaution.

Is it waterproof on the inside, so you can just rinse it out????

I bought this one at Wal-Mart - $60 the roof will pop off easily. I used a med drill bit and drilled holes in the bottom so that the "liquid" would drain out. I put two 2x4's under it to elevate slightly.....

Hi kaylee2katie. Saw the pictures of your set up for ducks and I liked it. I made the mistake of going thru the expense of putting down sand. It works real good for the guineas, but not for the ducks. I can't keep the sand on the ducks side clean. The poo lays on top of the sand after me hosing it down. Then I have to scrap the poop off the sand. Some seeps thru the sand and cake up. It's been a nightmare. I'm not enjoying these ducks at all. I spend at least an hour a day cleaning their side of the pen. I have 9 ducks and 3 guineas (had 10 guineas but they flew away). The ducks free range all day and are put into an open pen at night for safety. The pen has a tarp for a roof. I see you have garden blocks down (not sure what they're called). I don't know if that woud work for me. If I hose the blocks off, won't the poo seep into the sand? Anyone have any suggestions. I could use some help. I live in No. Fl.
