duck housing pics or designs?

Thanks for confirming my decision to keep the duck house a little shorter - 5 feet maximum at one end, sloping to 3 and a half or four feet at the lower end. I have been thinking of insulating the walls in any case - having double walls with vermiculite in between. The roof, if installed as planned, will be hinged at the upper end, but I still want a side door in addition to the pop door for the ducks.

Very nice looking house, by the way!

I would highly recommend that you be able to stand in the coop though for cleaning purposes. Having to stay bent at the waist to muck out a pen would be a massive headache.

Anyone have thoughts on providing "laying areas" for them? I know they often lay where they choose to do so, but having a place set aside that they might use would be excellent. I may have far more eggs than I was thinking I would have with 10 ducks!

Nice find, I hadn't seen that one.

Anyone with runners know if they share nests like hen's will when laying? Will 3-4 nesting spots suffice for 10 birds?

We use plastic drums for their nest boxes, easy to clean, and we got them for free. The runners use them as well.
