Hi,
I have 4 seven week old Welsh Harlequin ducks we have raised from an incubator. When running yesterday, my duck was spooked by a hawk and I believe she ran right into the side of the cage or twisted her Leg/foot. Either way there was an incident as I was standing right next to her, I just didn’t see exactly what happened. After that she couldn’t walk. Nothing seems swollen, or out of place. She doesn’t even seem in pain. She lets you hold her and move the leg. I’ve gotten a good look at her and I can’t see anything out or place or injured. She just lets the leg go limp, it is almost like it’s not even there. I’d like to be able to help her here if that is possible. I’ve been keeping her in the dry, hay covered coop with food and water and taking her in the pool as it seems better when she is in water, even though she doesn’t use the leg.
She has a good diet, extra niacin, free range for a few hours a day, access to the garden and pools. I also clean the cage and water daily.
Thank you so much in advance for all of the advice. I have already learned so much from this forum about ducks!
Below is an attached picture of Petunia, who I think is a female. I took videos, which I think might be more helpful, but I’m not sure I’m allowed to post them.
