The night before last something took one of my ducks and for another pretty good. I am thinking it was a weasel but of course a fox could certainly be the culprit. They usually sleep with our goats. I thought they would protect them but since the goats hightailed it over the fence into the neighbors yard that is no longer my belief. She was cut pretty good above her left wing around her shoulder. I cleaned the wound out in a bath and wrapped her with gauze and triple antibiotic ointment. I have been changing the dressings and today gave her some antibiotics. She is drinking but I haven’t seen her eating at all. I through some spinach in her water but only her healthy sister is eating that. I guess my question is. How long can I expect her to be lethargic before I get consented that she isn’t healing and what should I be looking for? I’ve never force fed before but should I start YouTubing it and preparing?
