Hello my duck friends! I'm so excited, and had to find someone to chit chat with. Were adding chickens to our homestead. The chicks are arriving in the morning! Im brand new to chickens! Any problems I should be aware of with keeping chickens and ducks. I know drakes sometimes try to mount chickens and that could be a problem. So They wont be kept in the same coop at night. The chickens are gonna be in a mobile coop in the cow field to free range. Ducks are in the coop by the pond on opposite side of the barn. They free range the whole property, and sometimes are in the cow field. Is this a problem. And just because every one lives pictures, heres some pictures lol. These are the breeds of chickens im getting! I was going for a colorful egg basket!

I have Welsh harlequin, Khaki Campbell, Buff, and Ancona ducks who free range every day with my Welsummer, Americauna, buff orpington, and bantam cochin. The ONLY problem I've ever had with them is my drake trying to mount my chickens. I've since had to seperate them until after breeding season.
