Duck laying eggs in chicken nestboxes?

I have a duck (black and white) that's laying eggs in the nest of a brooding hen. Problem is we have found broken and missing chicken eggs. This is frustrating since we were hoping to add chicks to the flock. What is the problem? What do I need to do.
about all you can do is separate at this point if the duck decides she wants to lay in the chicken nest box she will unless you can separate her in the night and early morning till she has laid her egg. giving her a special place of her own to lay her egg.

When I have found broken eggs it seems often to be related to how often the duck uses the nextbox. She sometimes sleeps in there too. Must be those big feet! ;) I don't, however, think the duck is eating the broken eggs. I think it is someone else in there if it looks like someone has been snacking on a broken one. Luckily lately I haven't had any broken ones. It also seems our ducks don't really look where they're going, so watch young chicks with them so they don't get trampled. Even when they were ducklings with the chicks, they would still run them over. It was awful and I had to watch the brooder carefully.
