My duck recently got diagnosed with botulism and he needs to be put down but we have another duck waiting for him at home quacking and looking for him what do I do ?

You will need to find it another companion to introduce it to. Sorry about your duck. Do you know how it got botulism out of curiosity?

Your duck may need time to adjust to a new companion, so be prepared for keeping them separated by a fence for a bit if they don't get along initially.

The vet had no idea where he got botulism from but I could only find two ducks for adoption and I’m not sure if mine would feel left out ? Should I just get one or both ducks ?

That I don't know, I can see good and bad about getting 2. I personally would get both, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the right answer. Hopefully someone with more experience with smaller numbers of ducks will add their thoughts.

@chickens really , your thoughts?

What sex are the two Ducks?...If they are both Hens it should be fine...If they are both Drakes it should be fine also....Put in a look no touch pen for a few days so they can get used to each other...
