Duck Mafia

I have 6 ducks of various breeds that we bought at Rural King last year. They are a lot of fun to watch but they won't let you get any closer than a few feet. They move all day as one unit. We call them the duck mafia. Is this normal? There are 3 male and 3 female. Our last ducks had no problem with us. They thought they were chickens so they learned to let us get close like we do with the chickens. Just curious ....0

Sounds like they are within the normal range of duck behavior. Some just aren't as chummy, especially at first.

I have found that our adopted buffs warm up to us after a while, if we ply them with enough treats, but they are not as cuddly as the runners I raised from one-day-olds.
