duck math?

ut oh Duck math will be catching up to Chicken math eventually, we just brought 3 little duckings home today had a blue Swedish drake already in the chicken flock, these look to be 2 runners and a pekin but they couldn't tell us anything other than they were hatchery choice lol.

They had fun we introduced them to water to get into yesterday in a bowl inside the house as the Drake wanted to take them to water in cold temps outside

any special care we need to know about on the runners?

@CyndiD Has Runner ducklings maybe she can fill you in. They are adorable ducklings..

Watch your drake they can be not so nice to babies.

Thanks for the info, the ducklings are only outside supervised with our crazy weather and the drake seems to like these ducklings as they are only a few days old he was gonna take em to the pond day we got them but we took them inside lol. This drake is a rarity he's played momma to the chickens since we got them at a few days old last year, he didn't take to kindly to the mallard we got last year but these he went back into momma mode

Wow that is so sweet he is that way, matter of fact last 2 nights my Muscovy drake has been sitting on 3 eggs his one female has laid. Not sure what he is thinking but if we get any ducklings[I have another female sitting] I will see how he is with them. I usually separate mom and ducklings for 3 weeks. Then let them be with the rest of the flock. Keep the pics coming.

Well this drake is almost 5 yrs old and this is a first for him. lol but it's very cute to watch. Maybe he'll sit on the Runner eggs I am getting in the mail. lol

yea we got a lone duckling last year to try and break up the duck and chickens and my hens actually ended up raising the little mallard until the Swedish realized it swam with him unfortunately it turned out to be a drake too and we had to rehome it
