Duck neck issue

I have a Cayuga that seems a bit off. Won't extend her neck to drink, so she only drinks out of their water buckets and not off the ground. She's making zero noise while all the others are chatting it up. Injuring seems unlikely, so I was thinking illness or something behavioral, like after being traumatized or wanting to lay eggs or something. She's just over a year old. Right now the 4 others are roaming around the yard after a good rain, and she's still in the pen by the water tub. Any ideas? The threads I've found on this never had answers. Thanks in advance.

Here's a picture. She's in the back.

Also, I just laid down the straw on Sunday. Could this have caused any respiratory issues or something?

It could be a genetic issue?
I don't know why it would pop up so suddenly. I may just call the vet if nobody has any ideas. I'd add Brewer's Yeast to their food, but I don't think she'd lean over to eat anything. She can only drink if the water is full to the top so she doesn't have to bend over, and she seemed rather eager to drink when I was filling it up.

Are you sure it's not an injury have you examined her up close? I'd def think about taking her to the vet if you have one and don't see any significant injury.
Have the drakes [if you have any] been excessive in their mating?

Don't have drakes. I went ahead and took her because if it's an illness I know those things can go downhill quickly. When I picked her up I could tell she was trying to make noises but couldn't. Don't know if that means something is stuck or what. On the way she stretched it out just a little to try to see out of the crate she was in, but looked like she was hesitant in extending it all the way. I didn't want to pull at it in fear that I'd make matters worse.

So your at the vets now? please let us know what the vet thinks is wrong.

2 of the 3 in town that see birds are out with the flu, and the third was in surgery, so I dropped her off. He called me and got more info from me, seeming to think that this is some sort of trauma or infection. He was going to do more inspecting before calling me back. He asked about neighborhood kids, and we live up against a creek where a lot of them play, with a 6 ft privacy between our yard and the creek. They're on winter break right now, so it's possible one of them threw something or shot a bb gun or pellet gun at them. I'd like to think that's not the case. The boy I met Saturday was extremely polite, but he was inquisitive about the ducks. We've only been at this house about 4 months, so I don't know the neighbors well at all. Either way, I think she's going to be ok.

I sure hope so sounds like you have a vet who is going to find out what is going on. Hope she recovers quick and keep an eye out for the kids rock tossing can kill as we have seen on the television lately. I'd hate to think kids would hurt your ducks but now days you just don't know.
