Duck nest on property

Its impossible not to love them !

I found a new love for ducks and geese when I first moved here to Florida and helped my neighbor at his chicken farm. He has a pet goose named Gabby(she's White and Tan color) and his pond draws in ducks and geese.

I'v never had ducks but love my chickens. They are so much fun

Here she is just a few minutes ago. Hopefully today when she leaves to get food and water I can fashion an A-frame style roof out of some 2x4's and some plywood. Leaving it open ended so she has easy access in and out.

Also really glad I had slacked off and didn't burn those leaves... Looks like they made the perfect nesting material.

Been thinking about the height of my fire pit and I'm not sure if the ducklings will be able to get out once hatched. Not sure if ducks can pick their young up.

I'm just helping her out as much as possible. She is a wild duck after all is said and done. Just trying to give her and the little ones a fighting chance with all the predators we have around.
