duck nesting

This is all so interesting. My ducks just started laying about 8 weeks ago. Then they stopped (it was cold and dark so I wasn't concerned) and about 2 weeks ago, I found 1 egg in the middle of the backyard. Then nothing. Then yesterday, I found 6 eggs in the hen house!!

Now I'm wondering if there are little piles of duck eggs buried all around my yard. Who know?

So, when you find your little hidden treasures, how do you determine whether it's fresh enough to eat?
