duck nests?

Hi, I got a group of Aylesbury ducks end of last year and while they were in lay they just dropped eggs wherever they stood. Anyhow this year want to give them a central place to lay - will they do this like chickens in a coop/house .

I have built a duck house that is 4x4 feet but do I need a separate nesting area to stop the others walking over and crushing the eggs, as they a clumsy at the best of times?

Ducks generally dig a hole in the bedding and lay their eggs. ..No they don't use nest boxes really. They lay then cover the egg in bedding .

If you put hay in there cage they will make there own nest. Just make sure there under shelter, and you should be good!
