Duck not eating

Shouldn't be feeding a layer feed to Hens that are not layers.
Crumble is easier for Ducks. Can you get a Grower finisher feed and make it into a soupy mix.
How do you know the other Duck has allergies?
Our avian vet said pellets are ok for her so hence thats what she was given.
One of our other ducks starts sneezing really badly when we feed the other brand available to us. Can remember what it is thats different in the ingredients but its awfull for her she sneezes so hard she bangs her nose.

Strange..Non layers should not be on layer because the calcium is hard on the kidneys..

oh yes, they have 3 large baths outside and a seperate drinking container. plently of deep water!
Dust from feed, drilling in the dirt etc can cause sneezing and not allergy related.
Wetting feed is also good. Mine enjoy a soupy mix when young. I never use layer feed but a Grower finisher with oyster shell once a week in a separate bowl.

I tried cooking the duck feed mix I have once and my picky eaters loved them. Its basically a mixture of corn ,soybeans, rice bran and wheat. I added moringa leaves for extra nutrition. Not really their natural diet but it works for my fuzzy eaters.

At 18 weeks probably okay for them to be on layer since most likely they will be laying soon. Pellets seem to be an acquired taste. lol mine use to stick their noses up at it but it eat if fine now.

Did your vet say your duck might be allergic? I know in the past when I was using crumble but mostly mash it was very dusty and even caused me to sneeze.

at first the vet thought the sneezing was a cold and treated with antibiotics.

we then swapped food as we were away from home and the sneezing stopped within a couple of days.

we got home and resumed the food and the sneezing started again. i told the vet and they said possible allergy.

we stayed on the second lot of pellets for a while and then had to swap again, the sneezing started again!

so now we dont feed the other brand of pellets. one sneeze is kinda cute but poor little thing had it so bad!
