I've heard of this problem, sometimes the penis has to be removed

surgically by a vet or it can dry up and shrivel, cause infection and so forth. Eeek, poor ducky. Tell him to keep it in his pants for a while, he's gonna wear it out

This has been discussed on BYC last year and that particular thread had tons of really helpful information as well as some healthy clean laughs.

If I weren't so busy here at my job (?!) I'd do a Search on it for you. Hope you can find it.

When my snake had a prolapse, I used KY jelly and a thermometer to re-insert it. Just thought I would share the technique. It worked well. I would let it swim in warm water, then dab the jelly around the area and gently push it back in.

I know this is quite an old post but I am having this issue with my Pekin drake. We tried to push his back in but were not successful as we are not exactly sure how to do so. Any tips? We are afraid to apply too much pressure & do more harm than good. His is still in good condition and is no where need the need for amputation, we are trying to prevent that.
