Wow that IS great!
I'm going to have to put some of those rocks on my shopping list..... Heck and the mat. I have a shed that I am going to use for my ducks, it has a cement floor right now and I didn't kinow what to cover that with.

THANK YOU!

Welcome! Yes, the mats work fantastic- I need to get more! The one in the picture has been in use over a week, and as you can see, hoses off pretty clean! I was just at a loss as to what to, everything either made a huge mess, like shavings-or stunk BAD-grass and hay. Smelled like when you leave flowers in the vase too long-PU! I was getting ready to start diapering them ducks!

Just as a tip, the large ones, when cut exactly in half, fit perfectly inside a large wire dog crate. I had two crates I was using for the chicks as brooders and chicken tractors, so voila! I had to cover the crate with hardware cloth so they couldnt slip through the bars, and that made it impossible to use the tray properly. I tried a few other thigns first and they didn't work so hot-the mats are just right!

You too? I just hang out at this site so I feel normal! Not everyone really gets why I have a hundred birds pooping all voer my yard!

I like your idea alot. I've been thinking along these lines and then your idea helped hit it all home. I'd like to capture seepage water coming in under our retaining wall. As well as the rain water from off the garage roof. We get alot of rain here for much of the year. I can get some pond fillings just from collecting the rainwater. And then draining the pen cleanings waste water into the pond collectors really makes me feel better about using that water. Then when I clean out the pond I will use an old portable sump pump to send the water to our various planting beds. It makes sense to recycle this water as much as possible.

Wow- that is a pretty cool plan you drew out-what line of work are you in? My plans usually involve a few scribbles on a piece of paper, then winging it, hating it, and re-doing it three tiems to make it work!

Your idea sounds like it would work really well, I will be interested to see pictures when you get it done.
