please help with my questions when do ducks lay eggs? about how many months? do ducks really lay anywhere and everywhere ? i have blue swedish about 3 1/2 months old

According to my research they won't start laying eggs untill about 6 months. Most ducks lay all year round. And yes they will lay anywhere but uselessly they lay in the mornings so if you were to keep them in their pen till maybe 10am or so then you should be able to collect some eggs from in there!

Just to add, smaller breeds tend to start laying a little sooner, larger breeds a little later, and on an individual basis, and depending in part on when they were hatched, they start the following spring after maturity.

The first of my runners to lay started at 16 weeks, 4 days. I think I will always remember that. The rest got on board over the next six weeks.

Hi
My two runners are fab layers, I got them last July and apart from a short time one was off laying but came back with her laying her lovely blue egg, I can now tell which egg comes from Tango which is the really dark blue egg and Cash gives a slightly lighter colour, they go to bed in the chicken coop and have a little nest which they lay on, or in a barrel full of straw if they are in the run. They go out during the day as free range on my allotment but I have never found any eggs other than in the coop.
Planning on getting two more girls and a drake as I have been told drakes make really good parents.
