Hey yall!

I was wondering if any of you duck mommas have a duck that has taken to you?

What does he or she do?

For those of you that dont know, I have Rouen and two rouen/pekin ducks!

My Rouen is almost a year old and she has taken to me within the last month.

I was leaving last week and my husband was watching her in the yard. I had my window down and she saw me!
She ran after me calling and I had to stop because she was almost under my vehicle.

Everytime we let her out of the pen she runs to me and pecks my toes.
She even bows her head down so I can pet her.
If I go inside and walk back out it's like I have been gone all day!

Do any of you have ducks as friendly as her?

We had a drake but we recently got rid of him. He was trying to be dominate with my little girl.
We still see him every other day.
I hope she doesnt think I'm a man haha!!!!

She bites at my feet when she runs up to me and she just started doing it.
She almost purrs when pet her!

Is it common for them to think their owners are drakes?

My girl (Cheese) has just started doing this. A few months ago something grabbed my drake (Quackers) before I got him in for the night. I was lucky it didn’t kill her too. Anyway, she is lost without him. A few weeks ago she started running up to me and nibbling at my feet. She also lays down flat on the ground and stretches her neck out so I will pet her or even pick her up. I have two two week old female (Mac & Ann) I am raising to join her. (Yes. That is correct Mac, Ann, Cheese). She has met them a few times. I am hoping this will ease her loss. Until they are old enough, she has a mirror in her pen.

Try not to feed her when she pecks you..she’ll never stop..I have little beaks ging at me nonstop because I wanted them to eat out of my hand...
