It’s been a while since I posted but my ducks sure have grown! For those unfamiliar I have my 4 mallards and the one Pekin.

I lost track of how old they are now but they are all outside on the pond for a good month and have done fantastic. We just love having them! They actually got friendlier once out on their own which is awesome!

Anyway of knowing if they are drakes or hens yet? Including the Pekin?

None of them talk much though they all quacked bloody murder as little ones when you picked them up... except the Pekin which is one chill duck  with no cares at all.

They do chatter and stuff when I bring them their food and stuff but so far not much quacking.

Also any ideas of the color of the lighter duck? I know I posted pictures before and everyone was interested to see it as it matures. It’s very pretty still ::D

If they are all fully feathered they should be quacking by now. We don’t know the exact ages but the Pekin looks like a male due to the plumage, and the others females besides one of the mallards because male mallards have a different pattern.

The pekin is a male you can see the curly tail feather. The ducks should be quacking by now.Try picking one up and walking away from the others should get the quack out of them. But just by going by color looks like you have one male mallard. Not sure though

Edit to add- The one light duck kind of looks like a Buff x Mallard cross

Haha thanks everyone!

I’m hoping they will all continue to coexist well enough... otherwise someone will be looking for a new home :(

So far everyone is great but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time and hormone levels .

I figured I couldn’t just get lucky and have just one drake out of the bunch.
