Duck sick help please

Yea that's where the problem comes in. We have already called around and no vet within 100 miles deals with ducks. The electrolytes that we are adding to the water contain niacin along with a bunch of others.

I'm in Canada and talk with a University Vet that deals with all poultry.

Some replies but nothing pin pointing it to anything. I do appreciated all of the advice though. They are 3-4 weeks old. Horrible memory the wife would know exactly though.

Maybe contact your local extension office (4-h). All poultry must be vet checked before entering the fair. They would know where to direct you and if by some chance they didn't have a local vet, they could set you up with a contact through the university that they work with.

It sounds similar to what we see sometimes in a domestic duckling when they have been fed chick feed which doesn't have enough niacin in it that water fowl need in their diets. Do you have a vet you can talk with about this?

If this is it by chance would be the issue is it curable? Does it take time to see a change? Just weird it would only be one? All three were living together and only one gets it?

Diet
mostly fish. Eats a wide variety of fish; also will eat mussels, shrimp, salamanders, rarely plant material. Adult males may swallow fish more than 1 foot long. Young ducklings eat mostly aquatic insects.

I know you said you add protein to their diet as treats but it looks like from reading this their main diet even as ducklings is insects until they get large enough to fish.

It possibly isn't contagious but something in the breeding.
