I have around a 13 week old khaki Campbell. I noticed she is stumbling and running into things. But she still can see and nothing wrong with her feet. She is super calm when I hold her. She has drainage from nostrils, doesn’t care anything about swimming but still tries to groom her feather. She’s having a hard time holding her head up and I’m having to force feed her with a syringe little bits throughout the day. I’m also giving her probiotic water. I started baytril today and was going to try that for 5-7 days and see how she is in a couple days. Anyone experience anything similar? I have 13 other ducks and they are all fine. She is also very small compared to the others and I’m going to guess that she hasn’t been eating. I thought maybe she’s sick and not eating causing her to be really weak. I’m keep her inside separate from the others to monitor.

Bless her heart. Have you given her and the rest of your young one any type of niacin?
Having trouble holding her head up can mean she has ingested something toxic. Any ideas? also metal poisoning is another problem. That's good to get her on Baytril I would also do a flush if you think she may have gotten into anything toxic.

Keep her inside so you can monitor her eating and drinking. What does her poop look like? Also using a syringe to force liquids can be detrimental if any of it gets into her lungs
Here is info on how to use the syringe for liquids https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...dications-to-all-poultry-and-waterfowl.73335/
since she has discharge from her nostrils she may have something respiratory going on. Hopefully the Baytril will take care of that.

I think she is dying. She won’t hold her head up at all and now won’t open her eyes. She keeps getting burst where she will flinch and try to stand but won’t open her eyes. Breathing is shallow. I don’t think she’ll make it through the night. All the other ducks are fine so I’m not sure what’s wrong with her.

I’m wondering if it’s wry neck from what I’m reading. I don’t have any vitamin E but do have vitamin b complex for animals in iv form. Should I try that?

If she won't hold her head up I wouldn't try and force anything down her throat It would be to easy for her to aspirate. I lost my Muscovy female recently and when she was dying she let me know she wanted to be alone..Just let her know you are there but don't try and handle her.
I will be praying for your little one right along with CoriM.
:hugs

Speaking of playing music, I've had one of my girls in the house for a prolapse and I play Tim Janis music on my laptop and maybe I'm just humanizing her too much, but she seemed so calm and I think she really liked it. Even my college age son says it calms him down and it really does relax me when I'm stressed.
