My 9-ish month old Muscovy (born May 3) started laying on November 27 and laid religiously every day for at least six weeks. In January she started to get a little spotty, skipping a day or two a week. Any reason to be concerned? She still wakes up early and nests and appears to be interested in laying, but no dice. Is this possibly because she started laying in the late fall and the shorter, darker days are affecting her? She does seem to be sleepier as well.

In my experience that has been outstanding production for a Muscovy. I would guess she is getting ready to go broody or at least take a break in her laying cycle.
Wonderful! I agree she is outstanding :) I have never let her hold onto her eggs, so she shouldn't be going broody, right? She's super uninterested in the eggs themselves once she lays.
